Plain-English version of what we do with the details you send us.

This page explains what personal information The Frame Yard collects when you use our website, phone or email us — and what we do with it. It also covers the cookies our site uses. If any of it is unclear, drop us a line at sales@theframeyard.co.uk and we'll walk you through it.
The Frame Yard is a trading name of The Frame Yard Ltd, a UK-registered trade-only supplier of windows, doors, blinds, glass and roofing systems. Our unit is at 33 Highmeres Road, Leicester LE4 9LZ. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described on this page.
Most of the personal information we hold is what you give us directly — your name, business name, work email, phone number, delivery postcode, and any notes you send with a quote request. We keep basic technical data (browser type, approximate location, pages visited) so we can spot problems on the site and improve it over time.
We use your information to reply to the enquiry you sent, put together a trade quote, arrange delivery to your site, invoice the job, and — if you've opted in — send occasional trade updates about new ranges and pricing changes. We do not use it to profile you or make automated decisions about you.
Nothing on our website requires personal information to browse. If you'd rather not fill in the enquiry form, phone the trade line or send an email instead — either works. Not providing information may mean we can't quote or supply, but that's your call to make.
We share the minimum necessary with the delivery firm that drops your order on site, the manufacturer that made the goods (so they know where to ship), our payment processor, and our accountants. Nobody else. We do not sell your information to third parties, we do not pass it to marketing partners, and we do not use it for advertising outside our own updates.
A handful of the tools we use to run the business — email hosting, form processing — sit on servers in the EU or the US. Where that involves your data leaving the UK, we rely on the standard contractual protections that UK data protection law recognises for those transfers.
We keep enquiry emails for around two years so we can pick up a conversation you started earlier. Invoices and order records are held for at least seven years to meet HMRC requirements. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we'll do so unless a legal obligation prevents it.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, ask us to delete it, restrict how we use it, object to us using it, and take a copy of it away in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email sales@theframeyard.co.uk — no forms to fill in.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first — we'd rather fix it than have it escalate. If you're still unsatisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Our site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies we may set are strictly necessary — for example, to remember that you've dismissed a notice or to keep the site secure. No consent is required for these under UK law.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or social-media re-targeting on this site. You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time — the site will keep working, we just won't remember your preferences.
We'll update this page when what we do actually changes, and bump the "last updated" date at the top. Nothing here is set in stone, but material changes will be announced through the site.
