Plain-English version of the rules our trade orders run under.
Last updated: 22 August 2026
These are the terms The Frame Yard Ltd trades under. Placing an order with us is confirmation that you've read and accepted them. If anything on this page doesn't work for your job, tell us before you place the order — we can talk about it and, if we agree changes, we'll put them in writing.
These terms cover every quote we send and every order we accept. Anything else — your purchase-order terms, verbal promises, boilerplate on your paperwork — only applies if we've agreed it in writing and countersigned it. If there's a conflict between our written agreement and this page, the specific written agreement wins.
Trade prices are quoted ex-works from the manufacturer unless we've said otherwise. Prices exclude VAT, which we add at the rate in force on the invoice date. If raw-material costs, exchange rates, or manufacturer surcharges move between quote and delivery, we reserve the right to adjust the price — we'll tell you before we do, and you can cancel unstarted work at that point without penalty.
Payment is by bank transfer or debit card before goods leave the factory. We don't currently offer credit accounts. Overdue balances on any invoice we may issue attract statutory interest at 8% above Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date we send them, subject to the price-review point above. An order is only accepted once we've sent a written order acknowledgement — at that point a contract exists between us on these terms. Sizes and specifications on your order are your responsibility; please double-check the acknowledgement.
Manufacturers sometimes update product designs — colours, ironmongery, glazing units — for reasons outside our control. We'll match the specification you ordered wherever we can; where a manufacturer discontinues a component, we'll fit the closest equivalent and tell you before we do. Customer-requested changes after order acceptance may attract a variation fee and a revised lead time.
We deliver by palletised freight to a nominated UK mainland address within the working day and time-window we confirm the day before. Someone needs to be on site to sign — the driver won't leave a pallet unattended. Missed slots that require a re-delivery are chargeable at cost. Time is not of the essence for delivery, but we'll always tell you as early as possible if a date is at risk.
Risk passes to you when the goods leave the pallet at your site. Legal ownership stays with us until we've received cleared payment in full — until that point, you must store the goods safely, keep them identifiable, and not let anyone charge or resell them. If we haven't been paid by the due date, we may enter your site during working hours to recover the goods.
Check the pallet at handover. Any shortages, breakages or transit damage must be noted on the delivery paperwork and reported to us in writing (email is fine) within 48 hours, with photos where possible. Claims raised after that point are not something we can act on with the carrier.
Every product we supply carries the manufacturer's warranty — 10 years on composite doors, 10 years on aluminium bi-folds and sliders, 10 years on uPVC casement frames, 5 years on integrated blinds, 10 years on Korniche roof lanterns. Warranties cover manufacturing defects only; they do not cover damage from incorrect installation, misuse, or normal wear. Warranty claims should come to us first — we co-ordinate with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Our total liability for any order is limited to the price of the goods supplied under that order. We do not accept liability for consequential loss — site downtime, loss of profit, third-party claims from your customer — arising from a late delivery, a faulty product, or any other issue. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
If something outside our reasonable control — an industrial dispute, a shipping delay, a manufacturer plant closure, a national emergency — prevents us from delivering on time, we'll tell you as soon as we know, agree a revised date, and neither side has a claim against the other for the delay itself.
You can cancel an order at no cost right up to the point manufacture begins. Once the manufacturer has started cutting frames or fabricating glass to your specification, cancellation costs are the price of work-in-progress plus any raw materials committed. We'll always give you the exact figure before you decide.
Anything you share with us to price a job — drawings, schedules, site details — stays with us and the manufacturer. Anything we send you — trade prices, brochures, technical data — is for your business use only, not for onward publication. Product designs, brand names and trade marks belong to their respective owners and their use is not implied by our supplying them.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update this page from time to time; the version in force is the one published when your order is accepted.
